This is how Falafel's doing, these days





Falafel's plumes are coming along very nicely;  they quickly turn into dreadlocks if I don't brush him every day, but otherwise he's very proud of them.  I hesitate to take photos of him, because he gets upset by the flash - I caught him mid-wash here, but he still doesn't look very happy about it.

He's a hamster! This colour is described as 'sable' - each individual hair is cream coloured at the base and then gets darker, which is why he looks as though he's wearing spectacles, and it looks as though one of his parents was long-haired.

He was very fluffy when I first got him, but his plumes have developed since!
