Illustration Friday - Monster

This is an illustration I did for a sweet little book called 'The Tale of Trellie the Troog' by Douglas Hill. Troogs are described thus:

'Old stories of scary monsters only tell about things like trolls and ogres. And while troogs could be scary, they weren't as horrible as trolls or as ugly as ogres. They knew, of course, that people were always frightened out of their wits if they saw a troog. But troogs just thought that people were a little odd.'

They're perfectly right, of course!

Anyway, enjoy!

Lots of love,

P xxx

This is gorgeous. I especially like the trees- they're magnificent. And the rolling hills- looks like there is a bit of a mist out there in the wilds.

Beautiful image! It's a fairytale-atmosphere in it! The colours, the trees, the owls and all the others goes together in a wonderful image - great, really!

Waiting for my boyfriend to finish putting the wheel back on his car so we can go to London via queen mary resvoir to drop his boat off. Then we can go and see the exhibition I'm really looking forward to it. I have not been before so.

I especially like the background - the colors and atmosphere are lovely - a very nice counter point to all the black creatures. Fun illustration.

I did make it to the exhibition eventually. That wheel on my boyfriends car took along time. It was really great to see so many different styles in watercolour. I was a little disapointed I did not spot your paintings I was looking forward to seeing them in reality I was probably just being dopey or something. Hope you make it on Sunday.
